Bugs and Wind Can't Stop NI SPIN

Tina Friday, John Johnson and Hunter Callanan represented NI SPIN well in rough conditions at the Bluff Creek Triathlon on May 23. The winds were unrelenting, as were the bugs at Don Williams Park.

Tina and John did the Sprint Tri. The bike was a nice tailwind out and a severe headwind back. Tina was 4th overall female and 1st in her age group in a time of 1:25:13. John was 3rd in his age group in 1:24:17.

Hunter did the Olympic Tri and thus got to enjoy the wonderful descent and ascent into the DSM River Valley, twice. She was 2nd in her age group in a time of 2:54:32.

We did spot NI SPIN'er Chad Gilbert before the race, and found out that he had a severe case of the cramps during the swim leg and his day was called short.
